This place is fantastic: great Vietnamese food, coffee, and service. But only if you can get in and out without having to wait more than an hour to eat. But even then, I think I would wait that long to have the food here. This is my second time eating here, but we decided to come on a weekday during lunchtime while it was raining, so there was no waiting to be seated. The first time I came I ordered the Bo Ne, which was awesome. This time I tried the roast chicken and a crepe on the side because I was feeling like a big boy. The chicken was seasoned well, the white meat could have been a bit more juicy but the skin was crispy. The crepe was delicious as well, I didn't take a picture so I forgot the tasting notes. I will definitely be back to try their shaking beef and crab udon, which I've heard were tasty as well.

Banh Mi Chao is a must!!! The beef, egg, pate and all the other fixings mixed together is heaven! It comes with a side of fresh bread that dip the food in and make the meal more fulfilling! Another hit is their banh khot. Little savory pancakes that's topped with a shrimp. Use the fresh lettuce to wrap each little banh knot in and dunk it in the fish sauce and into your mouth!! Instant gratification, esp when you're super hungry! Can't believe they've been open for quite sometime and I've never been here! Weekends are super busy and for sure will be a wait during lunch hour. I dined in on a weekday for lunch and there was no wait at all. :)

This restaurant always has a line out the door when I go past it and now that I have, it all makes sense. Their menu is concise and they make all their dishes with care and quality. We had their banh cua and bo loc luc. Both were perfect portions, beautifully plated, and all aspects of the dish were well done. They have specialities on weekends but their banh xeo can't be ordered on weekends. Can't wait to come back.

Modernized Vietnamese food with beautiful presentations and complex flavors will have you feeling enlightened on their innovation and tastes. Located in a mesh of a mall full of Vietnamese and other Asian shops, you'll find Saigon Oi frequented by many locals as one of their top lunch spots. This bustling place can be challenging to find parking nearby during peak hours but they share a huge parking lot with the entire mall so you're bound to find something, albeit with a little walking. While the place isn't too big, it seems to fit a good number of people with how the seats and tables are arranged. As a party of five, we were able to secure a spot but they also take reservations on Yelp to help minimize some of the stress for bigger parties. Upon entering, we were greeted by the staff and seated with menus and waters. They were very friendly, patient, and helpful in describing the menu items and providing recommendations. The menu is pretty simple with just a few key items. Each of their dishes is uniquely crafted to resemble a classic dish with a bit of a new take on it. For example, one of their specialties is the deconstructed banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich), banh mi chao, which is what I ended up ordering. The ingredients are served in a hot cast iron pan and paired with a loaf of their delicious baguette. Reconstruct it or eat it separately, dipping your bread in the rich sauce and juices, with each bite filled with their succulent meats. Divine! They also have a delicious mix of sticky rice, xoi thap cam, and a crab udon noodle soup dish (banh canh cua). These were also excellent options but as a first timer, that deconstructed banh mi is a must get. We also ordered a portion of their egg rolls and they were crispy and great for the kids as finger food. Overall, the Saigon Oi is worth the trip and the slightly higher prices because you're not just coming here for delicious food but the innovative approach to their dishes makes it a unique dining experience. You come here with an open stomach and an open mind, you'll leave satiated yet high in anticipation for the next time you're back. I look forward to coming back for another taste!

Second time coming here, and it was just as good as I remember. The inside of the restaurant is very pretty. The asthetic they are trying to go for is a hit and it makes this place feel like an elevated and romantic spot for a date night or a nice lunch. The food was great here. I had the banh mi chao last time, but I wanted to try their banh canh cua. When I got the pot, it felt like a good size, and I thought I could finish it all. The noodles was so good, but it was just so much food that I couldn't finish it all. I was happy I got to take it home. It felt like the dish kept replenishing and I found more shrimp and more seafood at the bottom. 10/10 dish I would order again and recommend it. Another star of the visit was the coconut coffee. It should be a more popular Vietnamese coffee drink as opposed to the traditional milk coffee. Worth the extra cost for the coconut coffee! I will always try to visit here if I am driving through Sacramento. Saigon Oi is a one of a kind.

The food was so good that I'm still thinking about it hours later. I haven't had banh khot in a while so I had to try this out. The food came out in a handheld cast iron pan that held each circle individually, which means extra crispy but not too oily. The lettuce & herbs were very fresh which paired well with the dipping sauce. I used the entire sauce because it was so tasty. We ordered the banh canh cua (crab meat udon soup) and the soup cua (crab soup). They had delicious bits of crab - pretty chunky, warm, and nice balance of pepper. The smaller crab soup had a perfectly cooked black egg in it that was a fun surprise. The server was attentive and checked on us. Loved the decor inside, where it was a mix of booth seating and tables. The pricing is higher for neighboring Viet restaurants but it's not surprising because of the modern ambiance and food quality like crab. Parking was plentiful and I got vip parking in front. There are tons of restaurants and eateries in the complex so you can certainly jump around to get dessert.

Located in a plaza filled with asian stuff. Parking isn't too bad. Menu is pretty small, but good stuff. Every region does the banh canh different. This place does there's with a thick broth. They don't skim on the meat. Also had their banh xeo. Nice and crispy exterior. Ordered their mini pancake to share. For some reason I thought it was banh beo but it was mini banh xeos without the bean sprouts. Also got a milk tea menu too. Nice of them to ask if there we wanted to adjust the vietnamese coffee sweetness level.

I wanted to leave a 3-star review but I just couldn't. Hear me out. My mom and I drove up to Sacramento to attend an event at Cal Expo and I had just been in Sac recently where my friends had recommended we check out this place after they went for a lunch I couldn't go with them to because I needed to head home. I called an hour before they closed and they let me know the kitchen would still be open if we ordered by 445. We had just got to Davis so I immediately started taking backroads alongside the highway traffic to get there at 433 to make the cut. To my surprise, the door was locked and they already started closing for the day. They got the manager over and I let them know that I called earlier so they opened the door and let me know that their chef needed to go home earlier unexpectedly, despite having just called and letting them know we were on the way. This would have netted them a 1-star review (and I absolutely hate doing that). They were apologetic and let us order food to go to eat in the car and offered a couple drinks to make up for the mistake and the inability to make the only item I drove over to the south side for - the filet mignon. Instead, we ended up getting the crab noodle soup with baguette, chicken wings, crab fried rice, and egg rolls. Thankfully, the food was very delicious and honestly saved so much face for this to remain a 5-star review. The chicken wings were crispy, fried rice was so flavorful and had so much crab in every bite and the egg rolls was tasty and had plenty of meat that had no fillers that overpowered it. Finally having some food in my system, the delicious food settled down my angry and I was stuffed. We saved the crab noodle soup to take home. I'll now have to come back again for the filet mignon next time I'm in Sac.
